Getting Digital
What do I need to get digital from Wrights Radio Relay.
In order to use our new digital service you will need the following
- A Vaild Subscription to our Service
- A Digital Ready television or Freeview Set Top Box
- A Specially Modified Converter from us.
If you are already a Wrights Radio Relay customer your existing subscription entitles you to use our digital service once it is available in your area. If you are not already a customer you will need to take out a subscription to our service, use our postcode checker to see if our service is available in your area.
Anyone buying a new television should ensure that it has a Digital Tuner and carries the Digital UK Tick logo to confirm that it is designed to work beyond the digital switchover. Do not be put off by anyone who tells you that there is no point in Newtown as Freeview isn't available. Freeview will be available from Wrights Radio early in 2007.
If you are not buying a new TV in the near future you will need a Freeview Receiver, and these can be purchased from most TV dealers in town. If you plan to use our service please speak to us before buying a receiver as there are a small number of boxes that do not work well with our service. As well as a digital ready television or Freeview receiver you will also need to have a specially modified converter. If you are an existing customer we will be in most cases able to modify your existing converter for a one off charge of £35. If your converter has not been correctly modified digital services will either not work or will be unreliable.
